Oil around Coils? 2000 s80 t6
I have a volvo s80 T6 and it was running rough so I put it on the computer and cylinder 6 was missing so I changed the plugs and coil. When I took the cover off I found that there oil in this area. now to me this doesnt seem right? What could be causing there to be oil in this area?

i know the oil cap had some problems staying on tightly or not sealing properly, that could be one problem. there also could be a leak around your variable valve timing actuator, the object towards the front of your engine on the exhaust cam side. i guess it could also be from your cam seals. i would just clean up the mess, recheck your oil level in a week or two and this area and see if it has returned. someone could have just spilled oil all over the place when they were filling it up.. and is that oil i see coming from the turbo? id try cleaning and rechecking first of all..
I dont think its anything anyone spilled in there. I assume it would have burned off since the last time the oil had been changed quite some time ago. I dont think that was oil in the groove on the pipe coming from the turbo looked like dirty water almost. so once I dry it up and it comes back I should check the seals for the cam?
the thing is that it WONT burn off of there.. it doesnt get that hot on the very top there. your ignition coils are made up of plastics and such, and if its hot enough to burn off oil, it would melt the plastic and the wiring and stuff... i would just clean up, and do the seal repair that tech mentioned and recheck in a week or so..
My s80 looked worse than yours. Took a rag cleaned all the oil out replaced the oil cap seal and that corrected the problem. You can feel the difference when you channge the seal.
