oil sump removal, dropping subframe.
2000 s80 partway through sump removal.
Quick question about dropping the subframe. Do i need to have the suspension in the air or will the subframe drop with the car on ramps? And if so where is the best place to put the jack stands?
I've found info on replacing the subframe bushings that indicated the car was on ramps and the subframe lowered but it doesn't look like that would work to me?
thanks!

I'm near Vancouver BC. It was completed succesfully. Biggest thing was loosening right side engine mount bolts to allow subframe to drop enough.
The lifter noise disappeared completely when I had finished.
I believe that once the "low pressure oil light" comes on it's too late to have avoided some damage even if it's minor. I don't believe there's no excessive wear happening when that noise is present.
At least less wear must be happening when the noise dissappears!
Only noise left is the injectors.
