Default options between 01 s80 and 03 s80 T6

I plan to buy a used s80 and have 3 options underconsideration. And I listed things I am worry about for each option. Therefore I need any kind suggestion from you.

1. 01 s80 T6 with 75,000KM
(GM transimission 4T65EV, and I am not sure whether turbo engine of s80 in this year has Throttle Body?)

2. 01 s80 2.9 with 130,000KM
(GM transimission 4T65EV -GT,Throttle Body issue)

3. 03 s8o T6 with 120,000KM
(I don't whether s80 in this year improved its transimission or not)

Thanks

There were a couple of model years for the S80 that had a recall on the ETM (electronic throttle module) to reflash the software and throttle curves. The '01 S80 2.9L is included in the recall. If the car hasn't had this work performed you may find the throttle to be jerky and inconsistent and it could lead you to think there are bigger problems. The new software / throttle curves can make a world of difference... and cost you nothing. You can call your local volvo dealer, give him the VIN, and ask if recall campaign #155 has been performed.

Thanks Piecekeeper!
Yes! What you said is just what I am worry about!
I noticed a kind of high-pitch noise in the engine area of my friend's 01 S80. and the mechanician said it was normal for s80 in this year due to its ETM.
But I wonder whether s80 T6 has similar ETM or not?

And another thing I am worry about is that some one told me that s80 and XC90 share the same transmission produced by GM which is not so solid when it is applied on such heavy cars. Is that true?

I can't comment on the transmission. There have been a lot of posts about tranny problems that could make someone think that every s80 will have the tranny fail. My only data point is my '01 s80 with 135k miles and and the original tranny.

FWITW, I would be surprised to learn the xc90 shares the same tranny with the s80. The xc90 seems to be a whole different animal.
