over heating and possable turbo failing need imput
ok i think i have it pin pointed but not sure so looking for some input... first of all the car overheats out of no were not on freeway only in city and not consistant maybee once a week to once every 2 months ive noticed aux fan acting funny not consistent on for half a sec then off then back on and when car is overheating fan DOES NOT come on so that could be overheating problem. Its not the thermostat i just replaced that so i was wondering if anybody knew were the fan control temp censor was or if anybody has any other ideas about the overheating... Now to the turbo............. ok occasionally i head a high pitched winding/whinning nouse from driver side turbo at about 3500-redline in 2/3 gear is not consistent dioes it for maybe 3-10 mins then stops also is loss of power and car does not have the full turbo kick... It almost seems like is not charging all the way and its deffinetly not the tranny cus the rpms do not go oddly... ive noticed and mediocre amount of oil in the driver side turbo air output and is throwing about 1 quart after 3k miles into the intercooler has been doing this for about 25-30k miles now was like that when i got the car is this turbo damaged and could the oil in ariflow system be causing the rare winding sound??? and imput appriciated...
Have the dealer see if the recall for the cooling fan has been done.
The fans are known to go bad.
Sounds like the turbo is going bad.

ok ive narrowed it down the car over heats after idle standstill for over 20 mins does not over heat at standstill once i begin to drive the guage hops to bout 3/4 hot to red hot could this indeed the censor and the fan does not turn on after the guage hops is there a second censor for fan control or is both guage and fan on same censor? i know im being a pain
They are both on the same sensor.
I would check and see if the newer fan is bad.
I have seen it before.
It sounds like it isn't coming on.
Check for power before the crome thing and for power after it.

Soyou thing its the control mod attached to the fan (chrome thing) and if last nigth the fan came on for maybe 5 secs then off again multiple times then just stopped (while car was off....)
okay tech so far looks like you got it right we never thought bout this but when ac is on fan is on very easy way to test module...
only 1 temp coolents sensor.. getting fan pm 3/07 will let you know on resaults thanks tech
