Default Petrol cap strap missing - unusual setup

Hi folks - I am confused as my google search did not show anything close to my petrol cap strap assembly. See photos below. Please can anyone upload a photo of their cap with the strap fitted and maybe a link to where I can buy a replacement strap? Thanks

How does the strap fit onto this cap which has an outer diameter of 68mm so not standard for the replacement ring type of strap and not place to attach with pins?

Hope this is clear enough
TIA.

That is not a Volvo brand cap. It should look like below.

Thanks - I have seen these but my petrol cap must be orginal as it has a key operated lock using the car key!

can you post a photo of where you put the key in the gas cap to unlock it? I don't see a tumbler in the top of it.

my suggestion is to go to an online Volvo dealer store and buy an OEM replacement cap. It will come with the strap and will give you the benefit of a new seal (a PO probably lost the cap or was trying to fix a small evap leak). Not sure why you need a keyed cap - doesn't your model have a locking filler door?

Thanks - yes it has a locking door so I will go and get a new one as the seal is not in the best shape too.

seal does not look good.

Interestingly eBay has the same one as mine for sale as a Volvo S80 part but of course no strap!
