I have a 99 S80 T6 and I just had the service engine light come on today. I bought an OBD2 scanner and found the P1237 and P0234 codes. I can't find them anywhere on the net or in the worthless book that came with it.

PLEASE HELP. This car drains me of all my $$$. [:@][>:][&o]

You might want to get it checked out at the Volvo dealership. I had the Steering Control Modul code come up a few months ago and it just turned out to be a error code, so there is still a chanceyou might get lucky.

Two weeks ago my transmission went bad at 114k miles without any warning, I had the transmission flushed at 93k miles so its not like I did not maintain it so I had to spend $4000 out of my pocket so your not the only one who's getting broke. I heard that the 99-01 GM made S80 trannys are garbage and its just a matter of time before they go bad. Have you had any transmission trouble or had any kind of warning signs.

I have an appointment at the dealership in the morning for the code check. I just thought I could beat these guys at their own game for once and not have to spend a ton of money. (We only have one Volvo dealer here in Indy and they know it!)

I have only had the transmission shutter that everyone on here talks about at one point or another. (Knock on wood, I haven't had any real issues with it.)

I did the math last night on what this Swedish POS has cost me. I paid $14,000 for the car 4 years ago and have put another $6,800 into it. (That's with an extended warranty!) Standard issues - turbo oil lines, ABS module, struts, strut bushing plate, sway bar links, brakes, TCM, mass air sensor, door lock module, alarm replaced, PCV air box replaced, serpentine belt, trip computer control stick (left side of steering wheel) and the list goes on....

I will see what she bleeds me for now.[X(]

It's been awhile since you posted, do you remember what the problem ended up being? Thank you.

Struts, brakes, belts are regular wearable maintenance/service items that has to be changed at some point in time regardless of the make.

The rest I would classify as breakdown related. From your list, I've also had.
Turbo, ABS

Not on your list.
Transmission selenoid, radiator, ignition switch, SRS.

That is over 6.5years/110k+km of ownership.
