Default Post pics and introduction..

i thought since this thread mostly talks about problems they have with their cars no one has posted pictures of their S80s nor have give some sort of introduction.. So i hope to open this thread and share pics with other owners..

this is my 2006 S80 T5. and i am from Houston Texas. has about 86,000miles. Never had any problems. I think a 2006 year has the least problems. There are so many things i love about the car but my fav is the wood steering wheel. Just love the feeling
My Next small project is to install interior LEDs.

Talking

Thanks! Yeah like I said in the caption, that was the first thing I fixed on the car and I was a little over excited about it because it was so simple!

Default Flea's First Volvo (2009 S80 V8 Executive)

Been looking for one of these for almost 6 months. Everything you read is someone who found one of these rare V8's out of state and I was no exception. Had to travel to the burbs of Philadelphia (conveniently my hometown, although now living in Maryland) to find this beauty with only 17K miles. Very happy with it so far. BLIS system gets a bad rap as a gimmick, but driving home from the dealership, I found it very helpful. Been in love with the redesign since 1999, so glad the early issues and kinks got worked out in 10 years.

Default It's Coming

Nice job on the LED's, I am almost done with my mods (pictorial coming). I just need to figure out how to splice into my daytime running lights to wire these LED's. Is it really that hard to do?

hmm so you are installing one of those strip type LED in front? If so then well i did something like that on my Toyota i had before and i didnt do any splicing . I think one wire went to battery source and other wire to one of the fuse for cigarette lighter.

I just saw you have executive edition S80?? damnn nice..i like it when its fully loaded.
Also i wanted to do all interior LED too but there are so many bulbs ( like 10 LED bulbs)..haha that is a lot.

Default Strip LED's & A Volvo Deal

It is strips and I've read about wiring it to the cigarette lighter, but does that mean the fuse for the 12V lighter, or some wire deep down? I've been Googling for a wiring layout to help me out, the LED's just need a 12V source and a connection to the ground - I know I can do it without splicing, I just don't know where.

As for the car, yes I am very happy. I've dug the S80 redux since 1999, but they were always out of my price range. In 10 years they've only made it sleeker and more accessible to that mid market (BMW 5, Benz E, Audi A6) crowd (Me!). What made this car and even more cherry deal was a Volvo warranty the dealership who sold it had no clue of (if they did, they could have used it to jack the price). Unprecedented no muss, no fuss even covers wear and tear (minus tires) - I'm even happier - that is until it expires in June 2014

Not trying to get too crazy with the add-on's though. I have the bumper protector, and a trunk-lip spoiler that I had to order from China. Crazy thing; Volvo OEM's a spoiler for this model but only for silver, and blue - they just won't make them in the other colors they sold the car in. Luckily Ebay has a guy who makes and ships them to the US. After a nice tint job and the LED's, i'm done. Pictorial will be coming by end of September (plan for the tint mid next month).

this is my S80 right after I detailed it about a month ago. love it, but it seems like everything I want that involves styling is for the s60. I want the IPD elevate trim pieces but i dont know if the s60 and s80 taillight assemblys are the same. anyone got an opinion??

hmm about the strip LED..its hard to explain in words. When bought those LED with complete package it came with instructions. I will have to find that package and take a pic of it

Nice S80 tho..
About the taillights...so you want to know if the S60 taillight will fit your S80? why!!!!.. :P I like the S80 design better than S60. The thing i dont like about the S60 is the look of parking lights. Its just doesnt match up @ night compare to S80. But that my opinion. Oh well..
hmm i doubt it ...since your S80 is having LED brake light @ back right??Even if you do manage to fit i am sure you will get some error message display ..something like "back light failure" etc.
You could ask the dealer and see what they have to say.

I got this off from 04 S60 owners manual tail light design. You can match the bulbs with your S80 and see if they match up. I doubt thy wont. You can see the reverse lights are bottom right where as the reverse lights for S80 is middle right. still no harm in trying it out. Let us know

Here are the bulbs verifications:
1. Brake light
2. Parking light (left
side)
3. Fog light (one side)
4. Side marker lamp
5. Turn signal
6. Back up light

PS: i noticed that you have pinstripe ..is that or am i blind..lol..I usually dont see pinstripe on S80s. Did that came with the car or you had it installed.?

Akabond... Idont know if you are talking to me or the guy above me, I just want to know if the shape of the tailights are the same so I could put the aftermarket ipd taillight trim pieces on.
