I think I need a new remote battery. However I am kind of scared to get it done because I don't know if it will reset the remote and I have to pay to get it reprogramed. Does anyone know if this happened to them or even if they changed their battery?

Usually replacing the battery won't mess it up.
It it is left for months with a dead battery then it might mess up the programming

 

I think it's just a watch battery you can change yourself.
