Removing rear camshaft bore plug

Removing rear camshaft bore plug
Anyone use a camshaft locking tool when doing a timing belt? I have to get the plug out of the rear of the camshaft and was wondering if you just pry it out or if there is a way of removing it without damaging it? Thanks
