replace struts
2001 S80 turbo - a) need to replace struts & b) need to replace steering wheel. How challenging are these repairs. My skill level is beyond "beginner", but probably not "experienced." Folks seem to be afraid of the steering wheel because of the computer and the air bag. There seems to be no manual for this model - is there another year/model manual that mirrors the repairs?

They are not to difficult, the struts will be a challenge without the tools you need. The steering wheel is simple, if your worried about the airbag, disconnect the battery.
If you pull out the steering wheel with the adjuster, lock it in, then turn the wheel 90°, you will see a hole on the backside, you will need a little screwdriver, long though, and your going to have to get it 90° to the wheel as possible and lift up, there is a bar in there that you press down on, if done correctly, the airbag will pop out on that side, then you repeat on the opposite side. Take out the airbag and disconnect and there is an 18mm bolt, it is in there good. Mark the location of the wheel on the spindle. There may be some horn stuff you need to transfer and MAKE SURE YOUR WHEELS ARE STRAIGHT AND THAT THE YELLOW IS VISIBLE IN THE CONTACT REEL. You can lock the reel in if it makes you more comfortable, there will be a little screw in the steering wheel, but I do not.
Also, there may be a different method as well. If on the sides of the steering wheel, there is two little access covers and you can see torx 30 screws inside, you have to remove these to remove the airbag.
