Default Replacement Battery

Folks, I'm looking for opinions and experience with replacement batteries. I'm still running on almost 9 years on the original OEM battery and I figure it's almost time to replace. What is your experience with aftermarket or OEM replacement batteries? What did you replace with OE or aftermarket? Good, bad or ugly?

Thanks!

The Volvo branded battery is a Bosch. Pep Boys sells them for $89 (with trade-in core). Only difference is generic one has a strap instead of plastic handles, otherwise they're identical.

I always had good luck with Interstate batteries.

If it makes you feel like you're getting a better part, I'd be happy to paint a Volvo logo on the $89 Bosch and charge you $200 for it.

I could have some stencils made and we could make a killing!

+1 on the Interstate.

Interstate and Deka are both great batteries. Just stay away from Exide.

Er, um, it's Exide that distributes those Bosch batteries to Pep Boys BTW.

But they don't make 'em (luckily).
