Default Reset Check Engine Light?

I had spark plugs and ignition coil problems 2007 s80. I have replaced them all and everything seems to be alright now. Do I need to reset my check engine light or does it go away on it's own after a certain amount of miles? I read something about unplugging the negative terminal from the batter, but thought I should ask here first.

go to an autoparts dealer like autozone and ask them to do it for you.

I think you should get it cleared with a reader. Most parts stores will NOT clear it but if you show them that work was done to correct the problem, they might. Most of these codes are for emissions so they are a little touchy about it.

any of our stores do it for free, however we don't have emissions here.

Thanks all! I'm surprised it doesn't go away on it's own, but I'll try autozone tomorrow.

It will with time, if the problem is fixed.
