Resetting Oil change reminder
My parents just bought their first Volvo, an '05 S80. In the past they have had all of their vehicles serviced at the dealership, but they have recently moved to the mountains and its a 2 hour drive to the nearest dealer.
I have no issues with changing the oil, filters, etc as I do already on my own vehicles. My question is: how do I go about resetting the oil change reminder on a Volvo? On my Jeep, Rover and Chevrolets it's easy, yet I have no experience with Volvos. I called the dealership and they said that I must bring it in to get it reset, however thats also what the Rover and Jeep dealerships told me when I originally got them.
I tried the search with the terms I thought would work, but go no useful results.
Thanks for any help and I look forward to learning a lot about my parent's new ride here (as they have little interest in the 'net themselves).

RE: Resetting Oil change reminder
Welcome to the forum.
On the S80 it is also an easy job:
1. Press and hold odometer reset button
2. Turn ignition switch to position II
3. Continue holding odometer reset button till service lamp flashes (app. 10 sec)
4. While service lamp flashes release odometer reset button.
5. Confirm by turning ignition switch off, then on again.
