I'm not quite sure if this is the place to be asking this, but I am going to anyways. I just bought a light grey/ silver 2009 s80 and I'm looking to purchase rims for is. What colors work well together and what colors don't?

You will have the best choice with a bright silver wheel = I'd spend more time looking at rim size and styles, What you can do is go to a car site like autotrader and look at other s80s to see what you like from a style/size color. If your car has the 63mm center bore rims, you can also look at newer models Volvos rim styles.

 

If you have the stock 17 " rims you may want to look into the 18" stock rims that are available for the S80. Some are very stylish and most importantly are not as heavy as some of the aftermarket rims available which effect ride quality and gas mileage.
