So today I was at the volvo delearship, and I told the guy the list of problems that I had.... I just simply said the front area of the car was making metal on metal sounds.. and he said ok we'll check it out...

after waiting in the waiting room... he comes around 2 hrs later and says:

Left and right struts need to be replaced, tie rods need to be replaced, the control arm bushings, alignmentneed to be replaced and some other component like that needed to be replaced...

So how much was I looking at, he told me around 2000$, thank goodness I hav a warranty :O

lol...lucky you...i'm, going to be ordering all that stuff soon and doing it with a couple friends. No warranty here ...lol.. I don't mind though becasue I got a kick *** price on the car and I knew it all needed replaced. I'm gonna spend probably $1000 or so on suspension stuff and some engine parts and a weekend of bloody knuckles soon...lol

I got denied coverage... believe it was a pre existing condition, or that I it came from an accident.

This is so BS, its so complicated that it involves coverage from my previous car warranty which i purchased (my delearship messed up all the paper work, lost the paper work....)

so it boggled down to this..

we purchased the the first warranty 09/2006 to last till 09/2008. The previous finance manager said the warranty started in 06/2005 when we paid for it in 09/2006. Delearship lost the paper work, as a result any phone in to this warranty company says its expired since they faxed the paper work with the starting date of the warranty of 06/2005. I have to provide old credit car statements, this is so frustrating...

I told them to go ahead and do the repairs, while shelling out 1800$.... The new finiance rep says that he will get them to refund the money of this repair, he needs to documentation that I paid for the warranty in 09/2006 - which means credit card statements.

I feel I need to take this to the next level. I dont know if VCNA can help me or the owner...

I feel like I shouldnt have paid this, and the delearship wont swallow the cost, they just gave me 10% off...

so got my car back today:

"Link has play, CABS are split, strut caps are noisy, struts are noisy, tie rods have play and engine mount is seperated. Replaced left front link, control arm bushings, both strut caps. Right and left struts, both inner tie rodsupper engine mount and performed alignment"

if anyone wants to know the costs here they are: 1189.62 was just in the labor.

The parts:
Link - $53.53 Volvo Part Number 31201602 - 5
2 X Bushings $58.62 Volvo Part Number 86306040 - 0
2 X Bushings $68.80Volvo Part Number 9443882 - 7
2 X Steering Rod $210.34 Volvo Part Number 274179 - 1
2 X Spring Seat $89.22 Volvo Part Number 8646713 - 2
2 X Shock Absorbers $384.84 Volvo Part Number - 8667253 - 2
1 X Engine Mounting $59.78Volvo Part Number - 8671633 - 9

Does this sound all right in what the work that was done and needed in relation to parts?

With all this replace should I notice a substantial difference in the handling at all?
