hi,
I have the above car and am looking to change the alternator this week but i just wanna be certain its the cause of the problem.

With a charged battery, the car will start and run fine but after a while when the battery depletes the dash lights, internal lighting, audio etc all shut down and eventually the car looses power and cuts out. Ive come to the conclusion the battery isnt being charged and the car is running it down as its driven.

With a multimeter on the battery, aswell as the alternator I got 11v. With the car running this voltage didnt go up as i was expecting but instead stayed the same for a minute, and then dropped quite a lot.

ABS warning etc are all showing on the dash but as soon as the car is attached to another with jumper cables it all goes back to normal.


has anyone else had this kind of problem with the S80? Am i right in suspecting the alternator to be the fault?
