Hi guys - Just purchased a Volvo S 80. It`s a 2008 with 65k, Absolutely love the car so far. What a hidden gem after owning 2 740i`s. Problem is the FM radio works fine but cant get the am to work. The am appears but no volume ? Any takers ? Thanks.

 

I'd guess that its either a problem in the radio head unit or there's an issue with the antenna. Check out car-part.com or eBay to price out a used radio unit and your dealer may be able to do a diagnostic on the antenna module.

 

I would check the antenna and the AM/FM antenna amplifier booster #31215627.

 

I'm putting my money on a bad ground of the antenna. Why? Because that's what mine did years ago adn it was a very common complaint then.
