Cool S80 Can't open my trunk

I recently purchased a 2001 S80. Love it! Unfortunately they only gave me the service key, no master key or key fob. Well, the radiator sprung a small leak so I decided to wait for the weekend to change out the radiator and hoses. Before the weekend got here the alternator went out. So I did them both this past weekend. Of course, before I started working on the alternator I disconnected the battery, which is in the trunk. Closed the trunk then removed and replaced the alternator and radiator. Went back to the trunk to reconnect the battery and couldn't open the trunk. (No master key!) Grrrr. OK, I'll fold down the rear seat and crawl into the trunk and reconnect the battery and open the trunk. Found out that the release for the rear seats to fold down the rear seat backs is located in the ... trunk!

So I don't know what to do now to get the trunk open so I can reconnect the battery. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks much.

Backfeed it from the "other" end of the positive battery cable, under the hood, and power the car up that way. You might be able to do this through the cigar lighter, which is sort of the traditional way people hook up an alternate power supply to maintain computer memories and such. But for sure, you can do it under the hood.
