Default S80 driver's side doors electronics not working.

Hi

I've got a 2008 S80 T6 AWD, and shortly after buying it last year, the controls on both the front and rear driver's side doors stopped working. I can't lock anything from either door, and i can't control any window from the front or the rear window from its controls. I can't adjust mirrors. The passenger side doors work fine, but the front passenger door does not lock either driver's side door. Similarly, the fob won't lock or unlock anything on the drivers side.
The speakers all work, including the drivers side door speakers.
Help please!!!

Hi, I know this happened a long time ago but how did you resolve. I am having the identical problem with a 2011 S80. Thanks

I had the same problem, twice. When you open the driverside door look just below the top hinge and you'll see a black rubber, flexable cover. This rubber cover contains electrical wiring through a harness into the door. The wire in the rubber cover becomes worn and brittle and can break. As electrical wire can do over time, the sheathing covering the wire can break off from constant bending by the door opening and closing, as well as the heat of the electricity. The wire can weaken and break in one or more wires. You can repair it yourself if you can solder the wires, but it is a bit of a tight spot. I might recommend you take it to an auto electrical shop and let them repair it right. This will likely eliminate the need to repair it more then once, like I'm experiencing now. Good luck......

Thanks, I'll take a look at that when I get home. I do know that my car has a quick-connect locking wire harness connector there, which i've pulled apart and cleaned with contact cleaner, to no avail. But I'll spend more time checking it out. Thanks for the response!
