Re 2007 S80 (UK spec) passenger side mirror replacement

I whacked the pax. side mirror on an obstruction--it is shattered and popped out of the mount & is dangling by the wires. (The unit looks the same as on my US spec 2008 S80--but I am not absolutely certain they are identical)

Does anyone know how to remove the unit until I can take for repairs? I have it pretty well disassembled, but cannot get the wiring harness disconnected from the "puddle light"

If anyone has ideas for spares sources, it would be appreciated.

 

to remove the puddle light you might have to remove the glass piece or the mirror motor maybe?. i have some pictures and directions...

Remove the mirror glass:
Fold the mirror glass forwards and inwards

Grasp and pull the mirror glass lengthways until it releases.
Work the glass out.

Remove electric motor:
Remove the 3 screws from behind the mirrored glass as shown.
Separate the connectors.

Also there are screws next to puddle lights (marked in red). did u try removing them and see it that works?
