Default S80 STC system

Hello,
excuse me for my poor english.
Volvo S80, 1999, 2,5 TDI.
There is no STC switch in the center console, but when I start the engine the STC indicator light in the instrument panel flashes approximately 2 seconds and then goes off.
The STC symbol in the instrument panel doesn't flash when it must flash - when the drive wheels begin to lose traction.
How could I find out - STC system is in my car or no?

Welcome to the forum.

excuse me for my poor english.
Your English will be better than my attempts at your language.

The STC was an option on your car. If there is no switch it is not fitted. However, the instrument panel will have the warning light built in as Volvo used the same panel for all the S80s of that year.

The STC indicator lightwill come on for approximately2 secondswhen the engine is started as the system performs a self-diagnostic test. All warning lights are tested at this time.

Thank You for Your answer.
But it seems a bit strange - "the system performs a self-diagnostic test". What a test, if there is no STC? And I think, that there should be no bulb for STC warning light in the instrument panel if there is no suchsystem (STC).
Maybe thereare some parts of a car, which differs, then there is STC and there is no STC?
