Default S80 Timing Belt / Marks questions

Good morning I need to get the procedures for timing a 2000 volvo s80 non turbo from scratch. took off the timing belt and have move the crank and camshaft. This is a VVT and interference motor so I want to be as careful as possibile. I need pics of the crank TDC marks ect. I also read somewhere about the moving the either the crank or camshafts clockwise then 90 degrees counterclockwise. Can anyone give me the detailed instructions and was the timing belt installed when you do this or do you turn it by hand with the belt off. THe instructions that I have read so far seem to be missing a few steps. I also DONOT have acess to the cam locking tool so I need to tothis procedure without it. im already into this project so theres no turing back

Optional Information:
2000 Volvo s-80 non turbo 6 cyl

Did you not line up the marks before removing the belt?

OMG! Never remove a belt without lining the marks up first.

At this point, I'd consider pulling the head and then setting it up.

Well maybe it's not that bad. If he hasn't spun all the gears round and round and just took the belt off he could lign up all the marks and still be good I think? Although it does sound like a bit of a mess and not too presume things about his intellectuality but if he took the belt off before lining up the marks and knowing what he was doing he might have a hard time digging himself out of this hole even with our help.

I once gave step by step instructions to someone changing their belt on here, with pictures and they still screwed it up majorly.

Without being there I think it may be hard to explain via internet how to undue this mess.

If you have a friend locally who knows engines get them to look at it or hire someone because I think at this point you're just asking for trouble.

Default got it guys............. thanks

guys I lined up all of the marks and got it running with no major problems.

what threw me was that you ONLY LINE UP THE MARKS............... dont worry about TDC on the #1 cyl. when you use TDC on #1 the crank mark is off bout 30 degrees. however the keyway on the crank is at TDC for #1.

For all of you who read this: LINE UP MARKS ONLY DO NOT WORRY BOUT TDC ON #1 CYL

You guys rock..................... keep up the great post and help.

ok so i have a similar situation. my cam gears are lined up but i cant find any marks on the crank gear. I need to know where the marks are on the crank gear to line it up. I read another post saying that you can feel something on the front of the gear that is in line with a tooth and then just line up that tooth but im not sure that will work?
