2000 S80 T6 - After driving for about 30 minutes the stering becomes very noisy, fluid is not low, I'm guessing a bad pump; could it be something else? anyway to verify? If pump, is this a Do It Yourself? how much for a shop to repair?

Pinpoint noise with long screwdriver to ear, see if it helps. The pump is easy to replace, i give you instructions when needed.

 

Thanks for the reply, the noise is there only when driving, it is a whining noise that gets louder when turning the wheels, especially when not moving. There is also some resistance when turning the wheels when the noise comes on especially when not moving.
