I recently purchased a 99 s80 2.9 and the stereo volume won't go up at all. what could cause this?

Do you hear anything at all?
If not check under the passenger side seat. See if the amp is under there. I have seen them get wet and burn up.

It plays. Its just very low like a 2/10. To be honest I can't tell the amp from the wireing of the seat. What does it look like?

It is black with some ridges on it. Mounts on an angle.

No amp under the seat.

Then I would have to say the problem is in the radio.
