Default struts

99 S80, had a noise from right front, the Volvo dealer says the front right strut and spring seat needs to be changed, it is covered under the extended warranty. Question is, will replacing only one side strut be ok, or do you need to replace them in pairs for the front?

You never change just one side brakes..............conversely you never change just one side's springs/struts.

I'll be TECH that if this was not a warranty job the dealer would never ever suggest simply changing one side! It's amazing sometimes!

because i was under the warranty after I bought a car, they only replaced 3, do I say that to them that they have to replace the forth of something...the question is will it be under warranty? when i back out of my driveway i can hear a bunch of springs go off with an echoing noise....DO i use the brake excuse thing? it doesnt really sound sensible to say to a volvo service representative at a delearship! lol

well its is official, I called and they only did one side, said that the warranty would not cover both as only one side was leaking. They said that as long as no gas from the other side it is fine.

Take a measuring tape and see if one side is higher/lower than the other. If there is a difference, argue the safety side...........
It is pure hogwash to change but one side!!
