I had to remove the sunroof assembly on a 2000 Volvo S80 to fix a jammed mechanism and re-glue the glass to a metal support. When reinstalling I stopped thinking and forgot to reattach the left and right side seals (part 9175614). From the parts diagrams it looks like they attach to the sides of the assembly at the back of the assembly. It also looks like I would have to drop the headliner and at least loosen the back bolts of the assembly to be able to get the seals on. Two questions: 1. Do I have the general location right, and if so, which channel wall do they mount to (channel which also contains the accordian like modesty panels or the other one, left or right wall of channel)? and 2. Since it would be a pain to redo this again, what happens if they are not put back in place?

 

Anybody got any ideas?
