Hello, I have a soft clunking noise in my 99 s80, but is mostly over small bumps and it is more like a rattle I guess. I think it is the sway bar bushings on both sides, but am not sure. I had the car in a shop about a month ago and was told that the sway bar bushings were bad and that I would need to replace the whole bar because the bushings are molded on. However, when I look at them on the sway bar, it seems like I could just slide them off of the barand get replacemet bushings. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

 

Most of them are molded to it. But I would check the end links first. Have seen a ton of them bad and never a set of bushings as of yet.

To check the front end needs to be jacked up and set on jackstands. Then pull down on the sway bar and feel for it to click or make noise.
