Default TICKING NOISE - ENGINE COMPARTMENT

ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, I HAVE NOTICED A SMALL TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN RUNNING? IT SEEMS TO GET QUICKER THE FASTER I AM GOING? ANY SUGGESTIONS. IT'S JUST A SMALL TICKING NOISE, NOT A KNOCKING NOISE OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT? THOUGHTS? SUGGESTIONS? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Almost like a lifter noise?
What does it look like under the oil cap?

It comes and goes? Sometimes it makes the noise sometimes it doesn't? But I do hear it more often than not. From what I see under the oil cap everything seems fine? What should I be looking for?

Sometimes people don't change teh oil enough and sludge builds up which later leads to more problems.

I think the pan o-rings are going bad.
After it has been running for a while pull the dipstick and see if there is air bubbles on it.

Thanks once again for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. I will do that this weekend. We have been bombarded with snow and it's not supposed to let up until 7PM tomorrow [:@]

I put a little bit of Lucas Oil's Engine Oil Treatment in there today and so far so good, the noise went away after about 15 minutes and has yet to be heard again :: knocking on wood ::

Good luck most likely it will come back.
I made a post about replacing them.
On the S80 the front of the subframe has to come down though.
