Default Transmission

I recently bought a used 2001 S80 (80k miles). Two weeks later the transmisson light came on. I brought it to a shop that specializes in Saabs/Volvo's. He said this transmission has an internal defect that it destroys solenoids. Even if I had it repaired, it would happen again. I then took it to a very reputable transmission shop. They said that was nonsense. It is a GM transmission and the can fix it and warranty it for one year. Please - anyone know anything?
Thank you

not sure - he just said a soleniod was burned out. Something about the tolerances were machined incorectly and would result in another ruined solenoid if I had it replaced.

The transmission shop said they rebuilt the transmission. Burned up clutches. I am going to pick it up tomorrow. I will get the full scoop then. He did say that they have fixed scores of this type transmission and nothing suprising.

The code are as follows: TCM000C - shift solenoid S2 hydraulic fault
EMC 510F - vehicle speed sensor
EMC 902A - communication fault with throttle unit
EMC 903A - Throttle position signal missing
EMC912A - Communication with ECM missing
ABS0093 - control module communication

Is it true that Volvo is warrantee the throtle module?
Thank you

Yes the throttle body should be warranty.
The bad part is you have a bad ABS module which messes up communication with the ECM and the TCM.
That might throw the shift soleniod code as well.

Tech - Thank you very much. The transmission was overhauled today and now runs fine. Is it safe to have my ABS mod either rebuilt or buy a reconditioned one from Canada? Either way I have to install myself.
