Turbo oil return lines 'o'ring seal replacement?

Turbo oil return lines 'o'ring seal replacement?
Has anyone done the replacement of the 'o'ring seals (and of course the small gaskets at the flange joints) for the oil return lines on the 1999 S80 T6?
If so, is it necessary to do it during an oil change? i.e. Can it be done without similtaneously doing the oil change. i.e. would any more oil spill from the return lines if the oil is not drained from the oil pan/filter? I can't see that it would make any difference but if anyone has any experience/comment, please let me know.
And can all the work be done from above the engine or does some of it have to be done from beneath the vehicle?
Thks,
Dwight

I haven't done it, but I paid a dealer to do it. It needs to be done from below. You don't need to drain the oil. Here's a how-to on a single-turbo model. The T-6 procedure will be similar.

RE: Turbo oil return lines 'o'ring seal replacement?
Thanks for the replies. Am wondering if it is even worth doing. Maybe just periodically spray down the block to reduce oil build up. Seems like maybe just aslow weep?
Is the green 'o'ring attached around the circumference of the return line and pressed into a recess in the block by a 'shoulder' on the tube or is it at the bottom of a recess in the block and pressed 'against' the block by the bottom/end of the tube? Seems like a crappy design....

RE: Turbo oil return lines 'o'ring seal replacement?
I did the oil change on the weekend and found the neither return is leaking at the 'o'ring sealed end which goes into the block so I guess I have to apologize to Volvo designers for saying it is a crappy design. I does however appear that a small amount is weeping from the flange joint on the passenger side/cyls 1,2,3 turbo. I was able to tighten the one flange bolt a bit more but won't know if it did any good until I do the next oil change. A drop of oil actually was on the one supply line but could really see where it originated from... Onward and upward....
