Default Turn over but won't start

Hi guys
I have a 99 S80 and it turns over but it won't start. I have a message in the window ( immobilisation activated alarm status on ).

Thanks in advance

That means there is a problem with the Immoblizer. Do you have another key you can try?

BTW I am moving this to the S80 section where it should be.

Hello tech
Thanks for your quick response. I tried the second key and used it to lock and unlock the car and in the ignition and when I try tostart it will crank but won't start and it post the immobiliser in the window. Is there anything I can try to at least start it and get it to the dealer. I'm trying to save a tow truck.

Thanks

Rej

Sorry no. The car doesn't see the key is in the ignition.

The antenna ring might be bad or it is something in the Immoblizer itself.

What if I disconnect the negative from the battery for 5 minutes and reconnect. It may reset the alarm and fix the problem? It's a shot in the dark.

Tried to disconnect the battery and it did not work. Sending it to Dealer on a tow truck. I'll report when I get it back.

I believe there is a chip in the key. If this is true, make sure you have no other keys on your key ring which have a chip in them. They will interfere.

hi thanks for your suggestion but unfortunately i had to take the car in to the local dealer . He advised that we reprogramme the keys and the car but this did not work and it cost me. He has now said the CEM is busted and i need a new one and another set of keys. Can anyone else tell me what might be wrong before i blow too much money on guess work from my dealer.
