Updating/Hearing the TTurbo
Hey well im new here and i own a 2000 S80 T6.
Full black. and about 198k miles on it.
ok well i was wondering if there was anyway to increase the sound of the turbo when you shift?
you know that lil noise you get?
Does this have anything to do with PSI?
and i kinda want it to sound like aftermarket turbos but a lil more subtle.
any way i can do it for cheap would be nice.
tell me all your ideas.
iv seen it done before.
and was a bit curious to try myself.
Any info would be great!
Thanks,
-Alek

Don't understand why anyone would bother, but I digress. Horses for courses as they say.....
Are you talking about the "whoosh" sound when changing gears? If so, you are looking an external bypass valve. From what I've read, it's a bad idea on a T6. To make that noise, the valve releases excess inlet pressure to the atmosphere. The ECU\ECM is expecting this air to stay in the system however and will not be happy camper.
