Hi, I read on Florida Sunpass' website that the 02 S80's have an infrared reflecting windscreen, and as a result sunpass will not work if mounted to the windscreen.

does anyone know if this was standard on all s80 models? Also does anyone in FL or any other state for that matter use some sort of electronic toll device on an 02-04 s80? I really would like to know if this works before purchasing one...

It looks like that windshield was optional as part ofthe warm weather package. See: http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/.../2002_S80.html

Works on my wife's s80 no problem... even the new sunpass mini.

 

Hi, have been out of town all weekend... so to confirm it worked fine, even though driving through the first toll booth i was a bit worried

anyone know why they insist you put it on the centre of the windshield... i'd much rather have it on the side of the windshield with my parking decals etc... I played it safe and put it where they recommended though...

I guess pulling the mini off and attempting to move it will render it useless (from what I have heard)...
any opinion?

Maybe the receiver is over the center of the lane?

 

for everyone else, I put the mini in the top left corner and it works every time.

 

Hmmm, I would have loved to do that but couldnt really take any chances..

Is it true that if I remove it and try to place it somewhere else it will be rendered useless (according to sunpass)

any opinions?
