There is a small bracket with a diapharm and electrical connection that slides out from above the radiator shroud that I would like to identify. There are two vacuum hose connections on one side and one line with a small filter (?) on the other. What is it and what does it do?

 

That is the evap valve.
It is one of the main parts of the evaperative system.
