vehicle speed sensor please help the wife is pissed
I have a 99 s80. transmission went out and had aused one dropped in. Took it to dealer for code reset. the codes wont reset. The dealer says it is the vehicle speed sensor. says there are 2. One on thetransmision and one in the valve body. the second is not serviceable and i would have to get anew valve body. Very expensive. Can someone tell me how to change the one on the body. Also can u explain what it does and what will happen if i do nothing. Seems to run fine since the tranny was dropped, shifts nice and smooth no noticable problems.
Yes and now it wont start at all. It cranks and cranks but wont start. It was taking a long time to start but that has evolved into no start at all. The dealer said my key was bad and cut me two new keys. Started at the dealer no problem drove home and parked. The next morning no start . They tried to reset my codes but it goes right back to showing the urgent transmision service required.
Thank u for your time Tech. I sure appreciate it. I will try to rig a ground and see what happens. So you think this has nothing to do with the speed sensor? Or possibly the throtle boddy needing cleaning.
It might have something to do with the sensor but might not. I would try the ground first. I doubt the throttle body. That shouldn't stop it from running.
