Volvo S80 Dead
My dad recently helped me purchase a 2000 Volvo s80 and for the time I was able to drive it I loved the experience (we were hoping I would be able to drive it for the rest of high school but thats not looking likely). However after 2-3 weeks without use the car no longer started. We replaced the starter, and keys so the problem wasn't either of those things, we also tried jumping it. After going to 2 personal mechanics neither could find the problem and we had labor charges. And after going to A Volvo mechanic told that the problem was the central control module and that the repair would cost $2000. We paid $2100 for the car...and school and work is starting soon which makes the issue even more urgent. Help with the next step would be appreciated. When you try to start the car it makes a clicking noise and doesn't quite make it, some of the toggles on the dash work but the car never actually starts. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Thanks,

If the ECM (Engine Control Module) was dead, then the starter wouldn't even click. Nothing would happen. If the CEM (Central Electronic Module) was dead, it would turn over but not start and nothing on your dash would work (no lights, no gauges). I would start with a new battery and check all connections. A clicking noise from starter usually is a bad ground or insufficient voltage. Did the mechanic use VIDA to determine that one of the computers is dead? If the ECM is dead, Xemodex can fix it.
