Wondering if the ECU kit(ECU, speedo, CEM) from a 1999 V70 with B5244S engine will work in a 1999 S80 with same engine.
I need the complete ECU kit for a 1999 S80 4DRS 2.4L, but failed to get one. All I get are ECU's without matching keys and CEM.
Alternatively, can I get an 'immo-off' ECU?

 

So far as I know they are very vehicle dependant. Is your shot or just gone? There are severl people out ther that fix the, could get pricy though.

 

not sure what year pairing of computers started - my guess its probably right around 99 or 2000. Did you look at he part number on your unit to see if its the same from the donor? You may want to reach out and call a shop like Xemodex or Midwest ABS who rebuild Volvo modules to see if a) they can repair yours or b) if they know when Volvo started pairing and whether key matching is required for your car. To note, when I replaced the CEM on my 2000 S40 and there was no pairing required, just dropped in the donor and good to go.
