from what i see its just a filter with a square metal piece that corners it off

 

i say try it and see what happens. then let me know if it works because if it does then im going to get one.

 

well the filter looks like its a cheap one, and the whole thing is a HAI and i think it will actually hurt performance, but may give a nice sound,

on my air box there is a **** looking thing, right in front, what is that ? doesn't seem to be able to connect anything to it since its all closed

 

if you are speaking of the round piece sticking out towards the front of the car, and if you got T6 model should be one on other side of the engine, it is nothing, it is like a 2 inch hole that is completely closed off.
