2019 S90 (L) T8 Inscription Performance, my 1/4 mile times (Also Polestar question)
Hello, first post, some intro/info first.
My son in law picked up a 2018 S90 T6, and we loved it, he went to trade it on a truck, and instead traded our Cadillac XT5 and we took his Volvo. LOVED it, nice car in every way possible. Style, beauty, comfort, great driving, everything. BUT I also had a 2018 Challenger Scat Pack SHAKER 392, and a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, also all loaded up cars. The Jeep sat on the street, other 2 in the garage. Then the 2021 Grand Cherokee L came out, and we traded the 2018 S90 and my 2012 Grand Cherokee on a 2021 Grand L Summit, basically a merging of the Volvo beauty (inside), the Jeep ability, all the tech of the Volvo into 1 nice large highway cruising, grandkid hauling, snow mashing beast. Then after seeing the old Volvo sitting on the Jeep lot every time we passed, really, REALLY missed it, but in no way regretted getting the new L Summit. SO, TO THE INTERNET, started looking for a T8 car, I like performance, and tech...
Found 5 in the country, narrowed it to 3, then got a real actual price quote on trading in my Challenger 640 miles away. SO I drove n my Challenger from Pittsburgh, PA area to Atlanta, GA area one day, and drove home the 640 miles the next day in a Crystal White T8 Inscription with Maroon Brown interior.
It was the best deal, and a very late in-service date of 12/23/2019, so the CPO lasts until 12/23/2024!
I knew it was quick, but damned if I couldn't find any real data, with the euro-spec 0-100km not being quite the same, and plus some S90 reviews are the "normal" and some are the "L" and some are US Spec which is the L but doesn't say so...
And not that I intend to race it in any way, I needed real numbers. I intend to get the Polestar Upgrade, if possible (another confusing issue) and wanted to get actual before/after real numbers and NOBODY has them. SO, I will be that guy.
Friday I took it to local strip (Keystone Raceway Park) and made 2 runs on a test-n-tune night.
Long story short version... 13.2980 seconds at 104.34 mph I was damn pleased.
First run was 13.4495 @ 102.76.
I had a blast, talking with a lot of just plain car guys, had fun showing off the gigantic back seat, the "Peasant Blockers" in the rear windows, and watching people be surprised when I tell them a car with me, and gas in it is probably 5,000 pounds can run 13 seconds with a 2.0, then see car guys learn it has a supercharger, AND a turbocharger, AND electric motor in the rear, AND it got 35 MPH over 640 straight miles in 1 day over/through the Smokey Mountains.
FWIW my Challenger ran 12.7 at 111mph there on a similar night.

It was a slow night, and I think I was probably the only person waiting to run with massage seats on. I wish I had an accurate way of getting 0-60, but the 60' times and 1/8 mile times aren't too far off my Challenger that got a 4.5 on its run, so a 4.7 is a pretty fair guesstimate.
