Default 2021 V90 R Design Change :(

The Volvo USA website now has the 2021 models on it. I was all-in on the V90 R Design until I noticed they don't have the carbon fiber inlays anymore. Only the metal mesh which I saw at the dealer by me and didn't like. I would get a 2020 leftover with the carbon fiber but my current BMW lease has 6 months left so my plan is to order a 2021 V90 in December. Maybe I'll go Inscription since I do like the Amber interior with wood but prefer the sporty look of the R. Any thoughts?

If local (mid Atlantic) dealer inventory is any example, there may well be 2020's still on the lot in 6 months. Some dealers are currently offering new 2019 cars.

Yeh, maybe, only problem is that I only want the dark gray, I believe it's called Savile Gray, with full leather and carbon inlays.

Buy your 2021.

Buy the carbon inlays from 2020 which will be available as replacement part. Fit it yourself.

Good idea, thank you.
Can't believe they chose the metal mesh over carbon fiber. The mesh seems pretty dated to me.

Yes, mine came with metal mesh.
They mark/dent easily.

Swapping mine to dark flame birch inlays.
Normally not fond of wood inlays but that one is actually quite nice.

Why not go Carbon Fiber since it's true to the R Design?

Please forgive the newb question, but where do you all find parts like this? I have a 2020 V90 with the meta inlays and I never thought I'd be able to swap them out.

I would imagine from the parts department at the Volvo dealer.
