hi fellows,
today when i tried to start my 1998 volvo s90, with about a 120000 miles on it. absolutely nothing happened, all the lights on the display come up fine but when i turn the key all the way through all i heard was a click and that is it. i tried starting the car up several times but all in vain. when i finally got the car towed to the dealership the mechanic diagnosed it as faulty pnp neutral safety switch, but what worried me really is that on a second opinion another mechanic told me it was a faulty starter. after a while ion carefull observation i noticed a check engine and a orange arrow pinting on the display it was really unusual.
i am not sure whati should change the starter or the switch!!!
please help!!

 

If you heard a click like the starter trying it is a bad starter.
But if the starter did not click it is the PNP switch.

The PNP is more common to go bad than a starter.
