Default Brake calipers: Genuine vs Scantech

Hi there,

One of the rear brake calipers seized on my S60 today, thus warping the brake disc. I phoned Volvo and was quoted 144GBP (+vat) for the caliper itself. I was also told that the original caliper has been replaced with a somewhat different part which requires a different holding bracket which comes at extra cost of 32 pounds +vat. 200 quid seems to be rather steep for this unit.

Can anyone please comment on the quality of scantech brake calipers that can be purchased for 72pounds all inclusive. Plus, Scantech stresses that they sell brand new units and not the refirbished ones.

I googled and searched for any feedback re scantech brake calipers but could not find anything constructive.
Scantech sources parts from many different sources and the questionable quality of some bushes and arms might not be relevant to the brake components.

Any comments are much appreciated.
