Default Clearing monitors stored

How does one clear stored monitors in the computer?? I have no check engine light but the smog tech said that I have monitors stored and need to be cleared before I pass smog. Will disconnecting the battery clear them?

Usually you have to complete what they call a drive cycle. That will reset all of them. Some where on here the drive cycle is posted.

Default Monitor Issues

A lot of the issues are described elsewhere, but lots of people have problems getting the monitors to pass. I queried several good shops here and did not get anything other than "drive the hell out of the car." The second time I had this issue for SMOG, it was partially due to replacing the battery. Without using the various tools to keep the computer alive, removing power will put all the monitors back in the "not complete" state and CA SMOG will not even test the car in that condition. Note, this state may prevent the car from operating in a closed loop mode with the O2 sensors, but that alone will not set a check engine light. What finally seemed to help for me was replacing all the rubber vacumn fittings, dealer only parts as far as I can tell. For a few of them, a simple hose might work, but most are unusual in that they connect a line to a port with different diameters. The local dealer parts guy was helpful, he printed all the pages that showed the fittings / part numbers and I just ordered everything. Not cheap, over $100, but the monitors went to complete fairly quickly in normal driving.
