OBDII Monitors Ready & Drive Cycle
I've got a 1997 850 R Turbo and I recently cleared a P0440 Evap trouble code as a first step to see if it might have been the gas cap etc. Now I'm trying to get my monitors to read ready (Inspection is due this month). My local import repair shop says to keep driving around for a few days and they should come up, if not something's keeping them down. Maybe if I drive it enough they will cycle on but if they haven't yet on my daily drive I don't understand what will make them suddenly become active.
Researching it I've found my model year requires the extended drive cycle run twice to bring the monitors to ready.
The only problem is I've found several different variations of the drive cycle. Does anyone have any first-hand success with running the drive cycle? If so do you have the instructions cause I got questions!
Thanks!
