Replaced Alternator, now serptine belt slips off?
Just replaced my alternator and managed to do it with the power steering still intact. Pretty much took off the radiator hose above it and removed my air filter cabin so I could pull the old alternator out. I did have one problem with the bottom left alternator bolt mainly taking that out from more inside of the car(not sure why they put it in backwards =\) and putting the new one in the bottom left bolt got stripped on the frame. So now my alternator has only the two holding it onto the power steering. Does the third bolt really matter for much? Seems like it just hooks on the frame, but I managed to put everything back together and got the pulley back on, but when I started the car and drove it I heard something get torn up, it was the serp belt. Noticed with a new one it's slipping off the alternator pulley first. Could this be the bolt problem or alternator pulley problem, or the regular tension pulley? Any help appreciated!
