S90 Info
I believe the S90 is the same basic car as the 960, but I'm not sure. I think they only made it for one year and probably did not make that many. I think it's the last of the rear wheel drive Vovlo's.
Hi everyone. I am considering buying a 1998 Volvo S90. It has about 78k miles and the seller is asking $9999 for it. If I buy it, I plan on offering around $9k for it. I have been trying to research this particular model but cannot find a lot of info on it. Can anyone tell me if this are any well known problems or things I should watch out for with this model? Is 78k miles a lot for a Volvo, should I expect to have a lot of expensive repairs down the road? I test drove it and it seemed to drive pretty well for a 8 year old car. Woulkd a be better off buyer a different or newer model? Any advise or links to more info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and Happy New year!
That's a tough question. The S90 is the last of the rear wheel drive Vovlo's, and there is nothing wrong with that. In many ways I prefer rear wheel drive. I think $9,000 for a 98 is quite a bit of money though. The Private Party Kelley Blue Book price for that car in Excellent Condition is $8310 and in good condition it's $7695. I would try to get it for around $8,000 at the most, and I even thing that is quite a bit of money for it. You should have a pre-ourchase inspection by a mechanic who knows Volvo's before buying it also. It will probably cost you around $60 to find out the condition of the car. Either a Volvo dealership or and Independent Volvo mechanic will do the inspection.
Good luck.
Good luck.
