Default S90 T8 Intermittent faults, P017100 & 017068

Hi. Please help..
since June I’ve been having the engine light come on.. I’ve attempted to take to Volvo twice now but each time the light has gone out so nobody at Volvo has been able to help me.
I did however mange to get it checked by a local garage and was given fault codes; P017100 & 017068 and was told he’d seen it before and replaced an “oil breather trap”.. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem.. Has anyone else experienced this..?

You would need to check live data to see WHY your car isn't running a proper air-fuel ratio. An oil trap could have been a potential issue, so the guy wasn't wrong there. When it comes to fuel trim, it's worth having a good technician check out your car as there are many possible issues it can be. I am surprised the volvo guys were that useless. Usually codes are stored, even if they self clear.

Relatively easy starter things to check are fuel pressure via the valve on the fuel rail or electronically (mechanically is better as it doesn't rely on a potential bad sensor), clean your maf with maf cleaner, check spark plugs ( should be replaced every 60k) to make sure they are operating properly, not burnt, and gapped correctly still.

Default Thanks for your help..

Volvo have said that it’s not storing the codes..
I did give them the codes which were picked up by the other mechanic and when I spoke to a woman in a Volvo call centre, she was really helpful, however, the people at the dealership weren’t quite so helpful..
When the light comes back on we’ll just have to try deal with it as and when.. Today I got the car MOT’d which I wouldn’t have been able to do if the light was on..
