Torque Converter Lockup Solenoid - P0740 '98 V90
1998 V90 (YV1KW9604W1-046771) sets P0740 (generic) OBD2 reader Code after travel in the 55 mph range. Code suggests the torque converter lockup solenoid (or solenoids) are not able to lock up, for some reason, once triggered by travel speed. Code originally set with "Check Engine" and flashing dashboard UP arrow, along with alternating W and E flashing on shift console. After a day or two, only the Check Engine light remains. Can clear Code with the generic scanner, but it returns after TC lockup conditions are met again. Non-Volvo garage was no help (no Volvo-specific reader), but they cleaned/confirmed outside-the-tranny wiring/connections.
Can anyone suggest what part(s) might be to blame, and, as importantly, where they might still be purchased for this 23 y/o car? Thanks for any guidance.
