Default Trunk Lid strut anchor broke

I have a 1998 Volvo S90.
Both trunk Lid strut anchors broke.
These are the anchors attached to the sheet metal support for the back seats.
I know I need to replace the struts but without the strut anchors, I'm out of luck.

I could try to weld them back on, but is there another way to make this repair?
Is this a know issues with these S90 cars? (The trunk lid weighs a ton)

Thanks guys

Are you talking about the actual hinge that holds the back of the strut? Those on my parts catalog show to be bolted in.

Fixed the problem. Went to a body shop and had the anchors welded back in place. :-)
