looking at a '20 V90 CPO with air suspension/self leveling - anyone have any experience with or comments about this set-up?

Hi. My 2020 V90 Inscription T6 AWD doesn't have this option. In retrospect, considering that I tend to pack the rear storage area for my every-two-months-or-so long-distance drives to see my kids, I probably should have ordered this option. Overall, from my personal experience, the standard rear suspension does an ok job of handling rear loads, and "leveling" isn't an issue for me. As it is, the non-CC version of the V90 has a stiffer/less compliant suspension, so added storage weight in the back doesn't seriously impact driving performance, at least based on the leisurely way that I tend to drive. If you don't plan to transport a lot using the rear storage area, my advice is to not get the rear suspension option. Just another mechanism that could fail.

One other note. If Volvo had provided 4-wheel air suspension as an option, I would have probably gone with that to improve ride quality, since I knew that the non-CC version of the V90 has a harsher ride.

 

i would have opted for the air suspension had it been available when I bought my 2019 V90 CC, but non had it in the existing inventory. The dealer told me in made the ride "softer", his words.....

 

I took delivery of a V90R in May. The suspension is indeed "sporty", but a joy to drive.

As always, find one and test drive it first! Then order a V90R while you still can!
